Why it’s important to clear your cache
Learn to how to clear your cache and data
You’ve updated a page or blog post on your website, you refresh to view your changes, and to your dismay, the old page is still there. Where are the new changes?
In an effort to be helpful, the browser stores information about websites on your computer. This way the next time you visit the website, your computer quickly loads the page directly from your computer. This is called the cache. It’s meant to speed up your Internet browsing. The problem comes when you make a small change or edit to your site, the browser doesn’t recognize it as a significant change. It instead reloads the same page you looked at previously. Just clicking the refresh button won’t be sufficient in this case. The solution is to either force a refresh, or to clear or empty your browser’s cache.
